Defence of India Act, 1971 – Ss 31 & 30 – compensation for acquisition of requisitioned property –absence of provision for payment of solatium and interest in the Act while existence of such provision in LA Act, 1894 – held not discriminatory and hence not violative of Art 14, Solatium and interest paid not legally sustainable –but in view of long delay in resolution of the matter and peculiar fact & situation not to be treated as precedent.
