RAIP Act 1952 -S.8- Solatium and interest on compensation Principle of solatium and interest under LA Act, 1894 not applicable to acquisition of land under RAIP Act. However, the same can be awarded if the State is responsible for delay in appointing the arbitrator - where there was no dealy on part of the state in appointment of arbitratorm, the claimants were not entitiled to solatium and interest.
