Anti-Terrorism Day (21-05-2020)

An act of terrorism is an assault on humanity and against basic ethos of all world religions. India, being one of the worst victims of terrorism , has been steadfast in its stance against violence anywhere in the world . Being a cradle of multiple faiths and cultures, India through its philosophy of Ahimsa, Dharma and Pragya propagated against barbaric acts of violence since ages.

Anti terrorism day is an opportunity to stand in solidarity with innocent victims and forces, who laid down their lives in these inhuman acts, whose families have been scarred for ever and to firmly resolve to stand united against any kind of hatred or violence.

Every year 21st May is observed as Anti-Terrorism Day. On this day anti terrorism pledge will be taken in all the offices under DE Organization and Cantonment Boards. However, keeping in view the safety of participants and to avoid public gathering, officials may be advised to take anti-terrorism pledge solemnly in their rooms/offices itself.

We, the people of India, having abiding faith in our country’s tradition of non- violence and tolerance, hereby solemnly affirm to oppose with our strength, all forms of terrorism and violence. We pledge to uphold and promote peace, social harmony, and understanding among all fellow human beings and fight the forces of disruption threatening human lives and values.
