The National Land Records Modernisation Programme (NLRMP) is a high-tech  programme, involving application of diverse set of technologies comprising three major components:

(a) Computerization of land records including digitization of maps and integration of textural and spatial data
(b) Survey/ re-survey using modern technology such as Total Stations  (TSs),  Global Positioning System (GPS), Aerial Photography, High Resolution Satellite Imagery (HRSI) etc.
(c) Computerization of registration systems and interconnectivity between the registration and land records maintenance system as well as inter-connectivity amongst the revenue offices

The Government  of India, Ministry of Rural Development of Land Resources (Land Reforms Division) has conveyed the approval of the President for creation of NLRMP Cell at the National Institute of Defence Estates Management (NIDEM) at a total cost of Rs. 196 lakh with the condition that training facility be extended to civilians including Ministries, Departments, State Governments etc.

The Institute has taken up renovation, upgradation and furnishing of Conference Hall and Lecture Room for NLRMP Cell.  Two high-tech computer labs with modern facilities for survey are being commissioned in the second wing of NIDEM in Raksha Sampada Bhawan (RSB) complex. Other training equipment are being procured for conducting  the courses under NLRMP.
